Hi all

I'm now certain of it, my clutch is slipping. I had my car mapped by Noel a few weeks back and was dyno'd at 427bhp / 444 ft/lbs. The previous owner told me he had fitted an Exedy clutch to the car, but I have no idea what type of exedy clutch. It feels very stock like, easy to push on the pedals and first gear is easily used. When booting the car though (mostly in 3rd or 4th) the rev counter now just fly's round without gaining much speed.

Anyone have any recommendations on replacement clutches? I don't plan on adding any more power to the car, just want to be able to use the power I have properly :)

Thanks

Brett

Competition clutch 6 puck. They're not that bad at all. Don't buy an xtd one.

Thanks for the recommendation. Where did you buy it from? And can it be used easily in stop/start traffic? Hear stories about these 4/5/6 puck clutches.

I personally don't have a problem with my XTD, it holds my 500BHP without issue.

I did see this though several days ago

Glad yours isn't giving you any grief, I have read a lot of people complaining about them, though. As for the ebay link, I think I'd rather go for brand new if I'm honest :)

I'm using the RPS Max street and RPS flywheel setup (now SpecialtyZ):

Smooth take up, heavier pedal feel than stock, but not so much as to be tiring. Flywheel has rebuildable facing.

Best part of £700 then. Better start saving ;). No appreciate this, cheers. Seems a great option definitely.

Mine came directly from competition clutch. It replaced an xtd that slipped and never once worked. I am sure phutumsh's works but mine never did. Competition clutch I am sure would guarantee their product.

With the 6 puck thing, it was bloody awful and grabby for about 200 miles but then settled and has been fine for about 15'000 miles. I mean that, my girlfriend can drive the car and ahe isn't a car person really.
