Hi all, this winter I'll probably take out my engine to overhaul the turbo's. As the engine will be out I'll change alle gaskets, o-rings, oilseals, vacuum line's etc..

Now I can find a lot of all this things on E-bay. I was wondering if these were good quality or should I buy everything at a Nissan dealer? Same thing for al the silicon hoses, I see they mostely come from china, any good or better not to buy them?

Never used them myself but I have heard some bad stuff about the cheap Chinese silicon hoses... I think the polished metal ones are supposed to be better if you want to bling the engine bay up a bit. Think I might get a set at some point.

avoid ebay for parts..especially for parts that can not be accessed easily (in case they go wrong) or that are very important (timing belt, headgaskets, oil/waterpumps. etc)

There are also a lot of counterfeit parts on ebay...so it may say "genuine Nissan" or similar, when its clearly not. (examples are airflow meters, injectors, gasket-kits, etc.)

I have heard and seen quite a few horror stories of people thinking they could save a few euros by buying cheap ebay (chinese) gasket-kits/timing-belts/pumps/clutch-parts/turbos/etc.

No need to go to Nissan dealer though.

Try CZP and Z1 in the US. Also Rock Auto and Courtesy Parts in the US. Not sure what Belgian import tax is but you may be able to get some good deals.
