Hoping to get down to SP this weekend for Run What Ya Brung (terrible name!!) But having a very tough time finding anyone that covers timed events.

Have tried:

Keith Michael's (my current insurer)

Flux

Moris

HIC

Even the number listed on SP's own website don't do it. There must be people on here that have got cover before - can anyone suggest where to find it?

Thanks in advance!

Got a quote of £195 with Ryan Motor sport Insurance with £1150 excess and agreed valuation but ended up going with Moris who quoted £73 for agreed valuation! Winner.

Yep. It is high in relation to my annual premium but reasonable considering I'm there to go as fast as I can*

Ouch. For a full track day, you could swallow that but to drive 400m is pretty spicey.

Of course its up to every owner and driver to make their own decisions but if you look at the risks involved they are pretty low.

Santa Pod is a wide as a 4 lane motorway.

It is perfectly smooth/flat with one of the best maintained surfaces in Britain.

You never get to drive on it if its wet.

There are no bends

There are only ever two cars on it at a time.

Both are going in the same direction.

You only drive hard for 1/4 mile then coast to a virtual halt before turning off.

Is probably one of the safest places in Britain to drive on.

All my trackdays etc are insured with morris, it's cheaper if you doing multiple events, mine was 120 for a couple of trackdays and a drift day. I've never bothered for drag days even at North weald, but it's peace of mind, only once seen a crash a pod,

Hi,

If you wanted to PM me your details I'd like to take another look at this. We have recently added some additional terms in our standalone track day scheme and as far as I'm aware I believe it should cover events at Santa Pod now.

Regards,

Dan.
