Hi all,

I am a new member to this forum and would just like to say how good it is. Lot's of my worries since I purchased my ZX300TT have been resolved thanks to some previous topics. Anyway that's the creeping done, I have just been quoted £400 to supply and fit a rear wheel bearing to my ZX as the noise is becoming a bit too loud now. Does this sound realistic or do you think the price is a bit on the high side??

Thanks

Glenn

Can't remember the price of the part, but it only takes about an hour to do. Does need a really big press though, so may have to pay extra for an engineering company to do that bit.

Thanks John,

I didn't think it would take too long to do the job but I have been quoted for 4 hours labour, I thought that seemed a bit far stretched. Mind you it would probably take me 4 weeks out in the cold!!!:(

Seems more than excessive to me. I had a wheel bearing done on my Merc Cossie and I think the bearing was about 30 squids and fitting was about an hour. Cost me about 100 squids all in if I remember correctly.

NOT 400! Major service with a main dealer isn't that much FFS!

Yep, think I might shop around a bit more.

I can sell you the entire rear hub (including bearing) for £35. I'll guarentee it for 6 months too !! Give me a call on 01634 221783 or email me at geewhizz@onetel.net.uk if you're interested.

Thanks
