Hi I'm at my sisters for a bit have the 300zx with me so poor things out in the rain and cold. Just heard a car horn go off constantly, went to door and it was my car:whistling:, so I disconnected the battery. It has been raining so much, water must have gotten into the horn wire some how.

It wants to come inside!

Lol, Got loads to do on it wish I could, don't think my sister would approve.

Try removing the horn relay (in the n/s engine bay relay box) and reconnecting the battery. Result?

Common issue, the targa drains have issues that allow water to get into both the drivers side and passenger side front foot well area, unfortunately the water runs over electrical connections and causes short circuits.

 

Your problem will be on the passenger side see one of my tech link below, short term there is a fuse for the horn under the bonnet on the passenger side, in the black relay / fuse box, the horn is marked up at least will stop it sounding until you sort it out, oh and the short will often dry out and seem like the problem has gone away.

Hi just been out to car, the connectors behind the passenger panel are wet so will clean and dry tomorrow. Will find targa drain as well.

As a quick fix, unplug the connectors and put some paper towel behind them and flush through the connections with WD40 and then wipe the excess off and plug back together, move the connector position away from the targa drain pipe, of course really you need to deal with it soon as.

Unplug the connectors, you will likely find some green corrosion on a couple of pins like i did on mine. My horn like yours went off constantly and after putting it off by just removing the fuse, my right headlight used to come on on its own, so after biting the bullet, i found the culprits, cleaned up the terminals and didnt have a problem after :thumbup1:
