The Recaros fitted to the Evo 4 are the same ones used in the Z32 version R. The ones from the 5/6 look a bit bulkier though. Are Recaro rails universal?

These are the recaros Dutchgold is talking about from the 300zx/evo4 if you haven't seen them before from Mondo's Z (Not stock fabric of course)

Holling fitted the Recaros from an Evo 8 (I think).

I can't say whether the later style of Recaro seat share the same lower bolt pattern as the Speeds do (as in the above picture), though I do have a pair upstairs in the loft (long story) so I'll go and check shortly :thumbup1:

Would prefer DC2 recaros like above but cost a fortune to ship up here. Have the chance of some Evo 5/6 ones since someone is breaking one up here hence why i was asking. That would be brilliant Mondo if you could.

Right, I've ventured up into the loft to have a look at these Evo 8 Recaros I have up there. :)

The runners are bolted to the seat base using a single bolt per side at the front and two bolts per side at the back, just like the Speed seats are. So I'm going to assume that the width and bolt distances would be identical to the ones I have fitted in my Zed. Without actually whipping a seat out of my car though, I can't categorically confirm this.

I can't think of a reason why Recaro would change something like that, though :)

Cool thanks, was there much fab work needed to fit the speeds into your Zed?

His speeds came off a newer 300zx so they already had the rails in lol

I don't know if the rails off the stock recaros (not from a Z) were the same though

Ah okay i see, surely wont be too hard to make up an adapter then, might be worth a look into. Thank guys.

My Speeds are out of a DC5 actually ;)

The rails, however, are the genuine optional Recaro ones so the only work involved in fitting them was tightening the bolts up :thumbup1:

Technically, no.

The usual Recaro seats found in Z32s and the like are actually the SR, not the Speed.

SRs have a very pronounced and "spiky" shoulder, whereas the Speeds have a more gentle curve to that part. Other than that, they're identical though.
