NEC thread

I am sure we can all see that various persons are getting their knickknackpaddywacks in a tiswoz.

I have a thought...which I put in the thread along with a few others. Maybe we shouldn't have. But we appear to have brought a load of monkeys out of the woodwork who are taking it very personally.

My train of thought is still as it stands - I guess putting a thread in the public domain was going to be a gamble. I'm keen to know the criteria for selection. As I've suggested, whilst I've put my name down, it is as a 'reserve' as I do want to see others who have clean tidy original Z32s have their place to represent the best of what the car is about based on the type of event that it is.

Thoughts?

firstly, in principle i cant see how we could ever deny the COTY from being on the stand, regardless of what it looked like, if the owner was willing to commit to it.

if the members voted for it, then an invitation should be extended.

secondly, we had already offered Mondo a spot for his willingness to drop everything and try to attend last year, even though he didn't make it.

thirdly, Lee should have a spot by default based on what happened last year.

the other spots should certainly be based on a transparent selection process, possibly including a vote at an event currently being worked on.

this should then be the standard method if we attend n future

i think we might have jumped the gun in tryng to publicise a selection process at this time

buts whats done is done, and i think a bit of committee discussion is needed to sort it out :-)

I think it would be good to have Danny's car there personally as it still looks like a 300zx! It's tasteful and well executed.

Yup - my own thoughts exactly....

What's done is done - so we'll just let the thread run its course. And pick the subject up again, once we have confirmation of our plot for 2016!

And Si, whilst I commend your offer to stand down and let someone else have a go, the fact is, not only does your Zed do the club proud; but, along with Joel, you too are always willing to be on hand to represent the club in person for the duration. That goes a very long way - your effort and enthusiasm for the car, club and show are most appreciated.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
