just thought id give you guys a heads up with what ive encountered recently.

 

Got me a lovely Audi a4 Avant 2.0L TFSI which has an uncontrollable thirst for oil....

 

Seems engines within the 09-11 bracket have been fitted with 'suspect' piston rings.

 

by uncontrollable i mean i used 1L of oil in 220 miles. Barely any smoke on load and cannot see any leaks visable enough to be a 1L leak.

 

It has had 3L's now over 1100 miles.

 

The issue usally airses around 60k miles and mine has done 67k.

 

I dont know yet if this is definitely the issue but it seems likely.

yeah i believe audi are aware of this and had been doing some type of recall build, my friend had the audi TT and audi in Ayr replaced the whole engine and his car was 09 im sure, this was about 3-4 years ago, and he had bought the car 2nd hand from that dealership..

Happened to my uncle & his Audi. Had to get the engine rebuilt but Audi did it for free, think his was a 2009.
