The very popular and cheap Pioneer A04 is being replaced with the double speed A05 and nobody has any stock of either at the mo :( I think Pioneer are having delivery problems during the changeover.

Waiting for a couple myself for customers.

I went to a smaller shop and they said they could get hold of it, but it was £40 more than the other 2 places, which is a lot of money.

 

I think I will wait.

I got an A05 very stable nice bit of DVD writer :D

Try Big Pokets, they may have somme.

PIONEER are being a bit goose at the moment, struggling to find any also - will be doing them for £199 inc 5 blank disks - hopefully have some next week.

Try http://www.ebuyer.co.uk very much like Dabs - but usually slightly cheaper. Have used them at work and they have been a good reliable company.

At the moment there are 3 DVD writer formats, DVD-R, DVD+R, and DVD REM, all have advantages and disadvantages, not nether the less there are still 3. Like with video recorders when they first came out there where 3 then and only 1 remains.

I dont want to buy a DVD writer only for that format to be not die out. I wanted a Sony one because it can do the DVD-R and DVD+R, but they have all be recalled for a bios flash.

So I have decided to wait a few months and see what happens, which format comes out ontop.
