Hello and welcome to the mad house.

You had your Z long, you a new Z owner or are you just new to the forum?

Have you been reading some of the posts or have you just dived in? :D

Just noticed you are from the States :D. As you can tell we are the UK ZX group but all are welcome. We have had people from Belgium, Holland and Cyprus to name a few and the odd person from the US.

Do you know of http://www.twinturbo.net? Its the US version of us. I think they are having an upgrade at them moment so thier site may be a little slow. I find there are too many people on that forum though and its hard to get to know people because there are thousands of regular users. Here there are about I would guess 100 regular so its easier to get to know people. :D

You may not get too many replies at the moment cos it 2am here in the UK :D

Stuart.

Thanks for the reply, Stuart.

I've been looking for a Z for over 6 months...seems as though every one that really caught my eye was snapped up before I could get to it. I was looking for a 2+2 (the occasional kid transport...), but the nice ones are rare over here. Anyway, I found a nice '95 last week and immediately made a phone call about it. Long story short, 3 days and 700 miles later, I was a Z owner!

This is my first Z; had an old Datsun 510 many moons ago...

I have been reading as much on the web as possible - including the links you posted. Good info, Thanks.

I plan to be a regular here...one of the local auto shops is run by a guy who used to work on Nissan's Endurance (300ZX) team...so he knows his $hit when it comes to Z's...

I knew about the uk origin...love it! :) I also have this other habit...two wheels...and have been reading the uk "Superbike" and "Performance Bikes" magazines for about 8 years...

Thanks again

Jim

:)

Glad you got a good one. I hear that the 2+2 are not common in the US and 2+2 TT are nearly unheard of. I remember taking to another American online and he was jealous of us owning 2+2 Twin Turbos.

Any reason you have been reading UK bike mags too? Are they better or do they not focus on US bikes as much. ?

Speak to you soon Jim. Im off to bed. I have work tomorrow, bloody football (Soccer to you ;))

To my knowledge, Nissan never imported the 2+2 TT into the States; there is one on eBay right now - but it may be an import. Yeah, I'm jealous too...

I bought a low mileage (59k) unit from a guy who owned it since '95. I drove it for a couple of hours, looked over every piece of it, put it up on a lift and looked underneath until I was convinced that it hadn't been neglected or had some surprises. So far so good. Lets hope it stays that way.

12 hours after I got it home, we had a snow storm! Haven't driven it since :( Oh well, warm weather isn't far off...

Be back tomorrow :)

The UK bike mags are great - much better - more color photos, women and a complete lack of "PC"...Political Correctness. ;)

Hi and Welcome.

Congratulations on becoming a new Z owner. I used to have a thing about superbikes too until my accident in 97 where I was in hospital for a while with temp paralisys. Ok now though, but haven't riden on the roads since. I stil race on the track now and then.

So you actaully drove 700 miles to get your Z ?. Wow that' s going some.

Welcome! Another superbiker to add to the forum! Congrats on buying the Z, closest thing to bike performance for the money! (but not quite there....:( )

I agree with you, the British bike mags are the best ones out there (especially Superbike and Performance Bike) I used to read some of the American ones, and although they were full of info, they came accross as just another sales brochure. There was never any criticism of any aspect of the bikes on test, and there was certainly no sense of humour. The British ones are pretty sick sometimes, and then there's the girls in Superbike.......:D

What sort of bike do you have?

Anyway, happy two and four wheel motoring!:)

Just a dirt bike now...I spent my time on both the streets and track - just too much time away from home, and $$ :D

I now only ride my dirt bike - neighbors have a "Ricky Carmichael" for a son and have constructed a track behind their house, so riding isn't far away.

I got the Z in place of the bike - something I can do with my wife and kid :D

I had a CBR900RR for about six years...hated to let it go...still fantasize about it.

...but glad to be here!

Yep. 350 each way. Wasn't bad actually. I have been looking for a Z for about six months. Each time I found one that was worth buying, it was snapped up by someone else :(

Luck finally came my way when I found this one, but I had to act fast on the phone. They held it for me until I got there, but I was prepared to walk away if something didn't seem right. I tried like hell, but couldn't find any deal breakers, so here I am!

I'll post some pics someday.
