I've been lusting after a classic car for some time now. A couple of cars were on my short list - the first being a Datsun 240z/260z/280z or some sort of american muscle car. Well after a 4 month wait my new car is nearly here - it's sat in a warehouse in Felixstowe and will be with me Tuesday hopefully! It's a 1976 Pontiac Firebird, 5.7 V8 and been modified for street/strip as shown in the pics. Got plenty of plans for it including a completely different front end which I've already got. Can't wait to get it here and get started on it. Don't worry the twin turbo Z isn't going anywhere :thumbup:

 

 

 

 

 

 

Well it arrived last week... And it fits a treat in the garage (thank god!)

 

After a good battery charge I had it running for a minute or so, now it starts for a second then cuts out. Think the carb needs to come off for a clean and some decent fuel putting in. Sounds like a crazed animal I love it!

From memory, a lot. You realise the zed isn't very big when it's sat next to a TA and they aren't particularly big muscle cars. What's most imposing is the bonnet night. I'm not the tallest admittedly but that body Pontiac the front of the bonnet is virtually level with my hip!

I don't think it's actually that much longer, but Steve is right it certainly sits at a decent height! I think it's actually a pretty cool stance it's got, and it's got special drag suspension for weight transfer on launches etc that's why it sits a bit higher than usual. I really need to get the new front end on then I'll be posting pics like mad as it looks so much better haha!
