Just got a 300zx tt 1990 auto!

just a couple of questions/ problems that some of you may have had/solved!!!

idle is a bit rough, ive been told this is poss the throttle bodies need cleaning???

when i turn the ignition key to the cranking position nothing happens like a flat battery! But if i hold it just before or just dont turn the key all the way on to the stop it is fine, not really a problem but would like to know if anyone has had this or solved it!

anyone know of band expanders available for the stereo? or if a standard ie sony stereo will fit?

cheers Dave

and I forgot!

when you come off idle it dies then goes only for about a second but makes it a bit dodgy going for small gaps being auto!!!

Welcome aboard, Dave ... :D

I thought I'd say just that and leave the technical queries to those in the know (of which there are plenty here).

Roll-up, Roll-up for the wallet-ectomy! Enjoy.:D

Hi Dave,

Congrats. Where you from Mate ?. Your location is blank or is there a special reason for that ?

im in se london/nw kent!

welcome dave

cleaning your tb's is the 1st step to take, while your doing it disconnect the battery for at least 30 mins to reset the ecu. also clean the electrical connectors on the tps (n/s tb), ptu (front of o/s timing cover), cas (other timing cover),temp sensor & coils as these can corrode the terminals with age.

the ecu also has on board diagnostics which you can check to see if there are any other faults.

all of the above is very easy to do, just get some carb cleaner for the tb's & electrical contact cleaner for the connections.
