It pains me to type this but ime feeling i need a Porche in my life....midlife thingy i dont know but ime after a sunday morning toy, ive always loved the 911 right back to the 80,s targa tops. I know we have some serious petrolheads in the house so ime after some ideas and thoughts bearing in mind i want something from the 911 stable and have a budget of around £20K...There are stipulations to your task,nothing with the word "Boxter" in it and "mutinity and should be a jap car".. I love my Zeds but i also love the Porche pedigree too:)

I didn't buy a Boxster S purely down to the lack of luggage space; so whilst I haven't owned one, I did test drive the S for comparison and would definitely 100% pick it over a Skyline!! But this is not my "new toy" thread - it's Brian's..... And given Bri's current leanings towards a 911 (or perhaps a 928), then either of those would be on my list of cars; some considerable way above a Skylark!

Stuttgart all the way....:clap::wink:

928,s are very very impressive cars Richard and yes you are right about them now holding good money after a sniff about the internet,But why oh why did they change the rear lights on the facelift:sad:...the early rears where one of the most impressive on any car ive seen.

Sorry but I have to say that I could not spend that much money on a beetle with a big engine without even looking at astons db7. I know your all going to say unreliable but it's only going to be a sunny weekend car.

Damn site better looking than a beetle!!

On a new level, you would get some American Muscle for some of that level ?

Just a thought !!

Alan..........

i had the s 3.2, was to slow there 260bhp stock i got mine to 300bhp the let down was the clutch and the non lsd diff, if you was just driving it round town then its ok and well made but even with the 300bhp just felt to slow for me at least,

If that mate....! But wasn't the later "987" 3.4s around 300-ish though? Whilst it might not set the world on fire, it is nonetheless a fine sports car - and still quicker than most tin boxes one might encounter:wink:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

If it had to be a Porsche, theres only one I would go for:

Of course this is your thread and your money so dont listen to any of us!

Yup - I'd go for that.....:thumbup:
