My car has failed it's M.o.T. for corrosion. Looking at it on a mate's ramp, it appears to be on both sides and at the leading and rear edges of the sills. To me, front looks more like the jacking point rather than the sill.

Any idea of a ballpark figure to rectify this assuming replacement panels being welded in rather than just a patch-up job?

Cheers as ever,

Ronnie

i had mine done this year, both rear sills, (which are 3 layers) both front corners of the floorpan, rear bumper supports (the panel behind the bumper behind the rear wheel) and a few areas between floor pan & inner sill all in my total price was £590, the guy that did mine is prob a bit of a trek for you but i can highly recommend him, he's based in tamworth next to drayton manor park, his name is guy eastwood i can give you a number if needed.

he used to do all the welding repairs for jeff at zed world so knows his way around a zed and all the common areas that go on them.

and the finished job just before stone chip was applied, he also drilled a couple of holes in the sills and wax oiled the inner cavities

Any chance you can send a number to me Black-zed. Desperately need somebody that knows their way around zeds and their many layers of sill to finally sort mine out for me and £590 sounds a cracking price compared to what I've had mentioned for mine so far as I need front sills and edges of floorpan both sides fabricating and welding to my SWB. Sounds like just the man! If you would rather not post a number on here you can always email it to vern936(at)hotmail.com. Cheers.

Been looking through old threads for leads on a decent welder/bodywork man... Can I have the number for this chap plz if anyone has it? Where is he based?

Anyone in the south looking for this type of repair should contact Jimmer at Powerzed in Bristol who has an excellent welder / fabricator doing just these kind of repairs. He will also send to photos of before and after and reinstates the targa drains which contribute to this Zed corrosion.

The name of the person Jeff recommends is Guy Eastwood. I have his number but everyone else seems reluctant to post it publicly so if you have an email address and want to post it up I can send the number to that? He's based in the midlands near Sutton Coldfield I think it is.

I'll be booking mine in over the next couple of weeks and will be speaking to Bodymech in Nottingham - although he seems to have gone a bit quiet on here in the last 6 months so I'm not sure if he's still doing it!

Sutton-in-Ashfield is ideal for me, only live about 10 miles from there! Email is ollgeeze(at)Hotmail.com really appreciate it thanks.
