I'm after some, very basic information about R/C control.

 

Cost of Control unit, how servos are controlled etc. etc.

 

What I want to do is control a full sized car, a la Scrapheap Challenge. Don't panic it's not a Zed!

 

Any help appreciated.

to tt tim re r/c models servo,s will cost u £8pound a piece new plus 10pound for a battery . i had a proper racing bmw m3 about a year back 32cc engine capable of doing 70mph it went like a rocket!! you must have a lot of room though for getting up to speeds like that.been flying aircraft since bmw now though good laugh it is too with all the guys on a sunday afternoon also you need a transmitter ,crystals, there you go tt tim any more info just ask cullyZ CHEERS

I would imagine you could well use modeller RF and relay gear but using modeller servos to drive a real full-size car? Really?

 

It sounds more like doing the Bond BMW controlled via the mobile sort of thing.

 

Where do you get big servo stuff like that?

I have a 1/5 scale which uses a chainsaw/flymo engine. Runs on 2 stroke and uses 1/4 scale servo`s. The radio gear, 1 big steering servo, one for rear brake and throttle and another for front disc brakes cost about £160.00. Goes like something posessed and great for donughts!!

What sort of planes do you fly ? I'm seriously thinking about getting an r/c glider for when the conditions are too light to paraglide.
