I'm busy changing out my fuel pump as it finally died (i think).

Anyway, I got one of th AEM ones the noz was selling. I'm just wondering how you actually fit it in situ. So the normal pump has the rubber round it that fits into the brackets. The aftermarket one doesn't. So how do you secure it?

This is how it ended up. Think it looks OK. Just concerned about the height. Hopefully it'll work OK. I also worry about wires in petrol but I'm guessing this is fine given that's how its designed.

So, the photos you mentioned look like the securing branket have been pulled out to give greater length. I have used them as they are. I used the original silicone tube on the top as well ratger than the linger one supplied.

So if the pump is sitting higher then it would have before, does that mean I'll run out of fuel earlier?

You need the pick up part of the fuel pump at the same height as the original. If it's higher then you won't pick up any fuel when the level is low which will lead to detonation at boost.

Been out and re-done it with the new silicone tube. I measured them against each other and the new tube is too long. I needed to cut about 2cm off it.

For the fixing, I straightened the old brackets to give more length and then secured it to them

I'm about to go down the same route - my fuel pump failed this weekend. Does anyone have any recommendations as to purchasing a replacement? Nissan or Walbro or others?

Richie k - I'm sorry I didn't reply, I hadn't noticed your comment. Noz sells these mate for £85 delivered - http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?180685-AEM-Fuel-pumps-FPRs-EBCs-Wideband-AFR-Kits-amp-MORE!&highlight=Fuel+pump

PeterR - welcome to the club mate. Waldron has always been a well known option. As above, Noz sells these on here So it might be worth looking at the above sales thread. I'm sure he put up some details about his testing of them. In addition, these are cheaper than a replacement stock item.

I don't really know or understand the technical stuff behind this sort of thing so hopefully noz or someone else might enlighten you if necessary
