Anyone know why Ferraris and the like, rarely (if ever) have turbos ? They tend to generate high power simply by large cc's and good tuning.

 

Is it a purist thing about the power being less predictable and the 'problems' of turbo-lag ?

Ferrari F40 Ferrari F50.

 

The 2 best every Ferraris by are very large distance are both Turbos.

 

And dont forget that when you have a highly tuned 5 to 6 litre engine you dont need turbos.

Lamborghini dont have turbos. However for a special limited edition they made 100 I think it was of thier Diablo VT 's into VTTT, VT Twin Turbo. They detuned it to 900bhp. :eek: and it was said that it run very happily at 1,100bhp during tests.

F40 Turbocharged, F50 normally aspirated.

 

But lets not forget the latest batch of big brawny cars,

they are all turbo charged lol.

 

It all boils down to what they want , when they start with the project.

 

What about JAG xj220, Bugatti eb110, 288 GTO, F40, Bentlys all turboed, Its more a case of design considerations,

Wierd how all the LMP race cars at Le Mans are all turboed.

Any aftermarket car can be turboed, and usually is lol.
