Ok i've got the car at last!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It feels even more comfortable than my old 928s,sounds great with the fat exhausts,i may even keep them............

The only faults i can find are the rear de-mist not working but i'll check fuses if there are any,and an annoying squeak every time i go over a bump.

The old TV in the car was in fact a Nissan navigation system,a shame as i'm not sure it will work here in the UK.If i can re-program it and make it work with my system i will keep it.

There are a sh** load of wires in the centre consul that i'm not sure what apply to.I was looking for a +ve wired connected to the ignition but couldn't even find one. What i need is someone who is expert in not only fitting stereos which i can do but someone who knows the import electrics.......any ideas?

Also i need a spare glove box,the one that fits either above or below the head unit, did someone have a spare??????

Finally i also noticed the car pulls very slights to the left but i guess it's probably the tracking?

Oh yes and i found the flare!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on becoming a Z owner. Hope you have LOTS of trouble free miles!

Can't help with the electrics, but the 'glove box' only costs about £10 from Nissan (I seem to remember it being called a 'pocket' on their parts fiche)

Good Luck!

Hi ya!

Congrats on your new acquisition and best of luck to you.

I don't know much (or rather - anything) about the wires in the centre console but can possibly help with the squeek. This is affectionately refered to as "the bonnet cricket". Basically, the bonnet catch is rubbing against the mechanism and occasionally greasing this part will (temporarily) cure it. I use a spray can of white grease and a quick squirt usually gives me about 2 month of squeek free motoring.

As for the cubby-hole holder, try AndyZ (he's always breaking Zeds) or Luke at the ZCentre (I think he used to have a few in stock).

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Dan

Bob is your man for electrics. He has the full schematic in his head !

Alex, this should help you get started:

http://300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/manual.cgi

Goto section EL-93 (Audio/Wiring Diagram)

and for wire color codes etc goto section GI-8 "How to read wiring diagrams"

AndyZ has the pocket you are after as I saw him take one out of a Zed he is breaking.

welcome to the mad house.

cheers

Congratulations Alex. The squeek may be the shock abs.

Try pushing down each corner of the car. Find out which one is squeeking and have them checked. Obviously you will have to change them as a pair.

congrats m8

The rear demist is very slow, anyway.

Also the mirrors take ages to defrost( they have no heating:D , at least not in my car, can you imagine?)

Good luck with the car,

rik

Happy motoring mate....
