Seal plate shouldnt need replacing unless damaged..If they removed it to replace seal then they would have disturbed the sealent on the sump hence leaking,it is quite easy to damage crank seal and should be a genuine nissan part fitted only:)

There is a gasket on the rear of the seal plate and a rubber seal that attaches between sump and rear plate ...Ideally because the plate has been removed now the rear gasket, rubber seal should be replaced but also the sump should be removed to make a GOOD seal, you may get away with a very small amount of sealant but i wouldnt trust it for long periods..You can change crank seal without removing plate;)
