Hi all.

I am after some advice.

I have a 1988 Nissan 300zx that I bought in 1998 and took it off the road in July 1998 when I got a company vehicle. It was declared sorn that year but at the time I never realised you had to renew it. I never had any further dealings with the dvla over the car and I moved house in 2002. I took the car with me and put it in a garage where it has stayed since then.

I am now looking to put the car back on the road but I'm worried that I will face a hefty fine for A: not continuing to sorn the vehicle and B: for not changing my address when I moved and lastly facing a back tax fine.

Has anyone been in the same situation as I am and how did you deal with it.

Regards.

Once a vehicle is sorned you dont need to renew, the sorn its just ongoing now if you re-tax and run for a period of time and take off the road then you must re-sorn the vehicle.
