Hi everyone.

My propshaft is on the way out, has been causing vibrations for a while now.

Does anyone know where's the best place to source a replacement? Should I go for a one-piece?

I have a '92 300zx TT manual 2+2.

Thanks in advance!

I've got loads of zx bits I would happily swap or part ex for a prop, how much would a prop set me back ?

As a spare so that I can get it manufactured into a single piece. I don't want my Z off the road for a few weeks whilst I wait for my current one to be turned into a single item.

Don't want to use the word "cheaper", but I'm assuming this route is significantly more cost effective than just getting a complete balanced one outright? If so, by what percentage may I ask?

Not at all. You'd always use one as a donor anyway. Nothing to do with cost. The cost will actually be more as I am buying another driveshaft to use as a donor rather than the one already on my car.

I have the same issue with a 300zx i picked up recently. Now i knew this was already an issue when buying the car. Anyway is there anywhere you can buy one without part exchange on the older one? Just i dont want to leave the car in bits until the new unit arrives.

thanks

There's usually always a core charge. You can buy them from the US withouth, but then you'd be looking at spend a LOT on shipping. You can get a second hand prop shaft for £40-£60, so it's hardly breaking the bank.
