Is it me or are shops getting stuff in earlier and earlier.

Walking round town last week (about the 18th Nov) and the Xmas decorations where up and "Im dreaming of a white christmas" was blasting through the tanoy. Christmas was over a month away. The weather was warm but wet and leaves where on the trees. Thats not Xmas.

 

Tesco have had Xmas trees and lights for sale in October. I remember because they where next to the halloween costumes.

 

Am I the only one who thinks that Xmas should stay in December? I know people who wrote out all their Xmas cards last week I have seen decorations up in houses already.

 

I think we should just bring it all forward to October, or have 2 a year, the shops would love that.

IMHO Christmas is great for kids. I also like Christmas decorations, and it's a good excuse for family and friends to meet and watch some crap repeats on TV !!:D

Funny how adults are expected by many to get all excited about it tho' - the SAME THING EVERY YEAR - it wears a bit thin as the years go by !

 

What annoys me is the stupid excitement around New Year - and don't expect me 2 sing that durge OLD LANG SYNE ?!:mad: :confused: As aaron will probably agree, I don't feel like celebrating nething wrt this year/the new year with loads of strangers - there was too much **** in this one !!!;)

I've never been much of one for Xmas - in fact my whole family isn't, as we're not very religious.. So the Xmas decs are a bit sparse now (when I was a kid we had much more, but now it's just like any other weekend when I'm visiting my folks - lots of food and lots of wine! Lol). But I can't stand the way it starts earlier every bl00dy year..

 

Never have celebrated new years - and you're right Nelson, for just those reasons..

 

Still, get me drunk enough and I can have a good time... honest.. no really..

Doesn't Commercialisation..uh..I mean Christmas start around Easter time now?

 

Watching TV around this time is a pain as well - every single advert is a Want-Ad for some kiddies toy... :rolleyes:

 

Not keen on Christmas - never have been, really. Far too much hassle to do on one day what we all do for each other the whole year... Not give presents and stuff ;) but help each other out when needed.
