That is a massivly powerful car, with huge amounts of torque.

No 300zx on this forum comes near that car for power or torque.

He said it was ~500BHP. Isn't anyone over 500BHP (at the crank) in here ?

 

Also, a 300ZX is probably a fair bit lighter than the AMG.

Anyway he said fastest as in top speed. Did he actually mention the 0-60?

I've seen off a few 'older' SL500 AMG's, but don't think many on here (if anyone) will beat that beast.

 

We have highly strung Japanese Ninja horsepower, that thing had Fcuk Off in yer face German pointy helmet power (with all the electrickery) and perfect mapping. So if yer see one and if yer tempted....don't, it will end in tears.

 

Surprised that Clarkysan chopped his Ferrari in for the AMG though.....that says something about it:eek:

Yup, brabus is the daddy of engine transplants, holds the record for fastest saloon, estate & 4x4 i believe. got thier brochures in at the mo as were in negotiations to be a brabus dealer. (whoo hoo!! :D )

 

The new AMG 55 SL is AWSOME, 0-60 out accellerates the new Lambo!!

 

the older 129 series SL, in AMG form was again the AMG 55, the SL500 AMG was just kitted up. still a very nice car.

 

oh, and as for it being an auto, merc cant make a decent manwell box for toffee!!! (& SL's are only available as auto anyway)

I can't remember the details but in the 300ZX enthusiast's guide, there is a whole paragraph about Nissan's motorsport history and it is pretty good !

 

Paul Newman used to drive for Nissan.
