Another question if you don't mind.

Want to chuck a sub in the boot - anyone know of someone who makes up a nice little snug-fitting box? (in THIS country!)

The black Z at Jeff's with the 2 subs left & right in the boot, anyone on here?

Thanks, James.

Russ,

Certainly did.

James,

It's made out of fibreglass (apart from the the speaker mount which is MDF). Pretty messy stuff but at least you smile a lot with the fumes:p

Fibreglass? sounds a little over my head! whats the bass like with a glass box then?

James,

Very good mate. I did lots of searching on the net and that's what everyone uses. The only problem I have now is that every rattle gets on my nerves, so that's another job to do - sound proofing/dampning.

Andy D has given me a few tips and I'm sure he's good for some advice too.......................

As I said before, it can just be messy and time consuming.

Hi All,

I'm in the process of building ICE setup in the boot. I have done one quarter of the boot so far which is a moulded MDF which fits snug in the corner and holds 2 x 10" 250W subs. I will have another in the other corner which will hold another 2 x 10" 250W subs. In between another moulded unit that will hold my 12 disc changer, then at the back I will have 2 x 200W 6 x 9's each side again in moulded frame (not box) and lastly 2 amps (longmill jx-600 and Kenwood RC645) under perspex with a couple of neon's.

You don't need to use Fibre glass if you don't want to. I personally only used it to smooth off the boxes. If you measure it right (I still have the templates I made if you want them) you can do the lot in MDF, then cover it with vinyl or matting.

Fibre glass can be bought from Halfords i kits or you can ust buy the P40 which can be sanded to shape. P38 is the fibre matting resin.

To get rid of the rattles etc, the license plate can be backed with foam pads. The wiring in the boot (that feds the lights, fog, reverse, brake etc needs to be insulated and tied down) then you can coat the rest in dynamat or brown bread.

If you are not too far from me I'm near Ilford / Romford, you could pop by and take a took.

Will pm you in next couple of days and let you know for def if thats ok mate? would like to check it out.

Sure thing James, where are you located ?.

I've currently got two projects going on with the car at the moment. One is the ICE setup including subs and the other is the refabricing of the interior panels. I should have my web site up and running soon. It will contain every mod I have done to the car since I got it. I will be adding to this constantly and it already has a section for the subs on there. I just need to find out what NTL has done with my 10 meg of space it promised me.:(
