Cats & back pressure!

I want to remove cats but want toi keep some backpressure to save the enevitable (rear seal failure). Ok. Can a aftermarket expantion can/silencer be fitted in its place with sure results?

Boost psi.

As in the mag from the rolling road test last year, im still over fueling LARGE! I've made my own jets & going down the range in 0.1mm incraments. Im at 1.32mm at pressent, the differance is massive & the boost is off the scale (not that accurate we know!) just how much can the stock system take safely.

And why am i waisting so much fun/fuel? The fuel system is mint & no leaks.

Yes Harve Ginger bollocks does the front pipes with the cans on,to give a little more back pressure or without;)

Those pseudo silencers don't create any more back pressure, they just take a bit of the crackle out.

Harve - get yerself an accurate boost gauge BEFORE you blow it up !

YAWN!

Harve,

If you don't want to lose backpressure then you may as well keep the cats - the benefit in removing them is the reduction in backpressure :).

On the fuelling thing, I wouldn't play with it without a rolling road. If you want to, then get a real time exhaust gas analyser (less than £100 from Demon Tweeks) and make sure you have that on all the time to spot a weak mixture. But I wouldn't risk it personally.

Good luck

Dave
