I know this has been asked b4 but doing a search did not come up with any real answer so............

BOVs or Recircs(aftermarket)

I dont care about the whoosh but my standard recircs have had it, what I do care about is the general performance of the car.

Im leaning towards recircs....

Answers on a postcard please!

get recircs, although BOVs are very cool :D

hello there big fella!!

well this is what i was told bout bov's and re-cuircs

having the re-cuircs in when lifting of the throttle it dumps the air back into the inlet of the turbo but not so much that it stalls the turbo!! but when u put your foot down again there is plenty of air there already to spin the turbos's!!

having the bov's mean that the air is dumpped to atmosphere so when u put your foot down again it takes a bit longer to build up the boost pressure!! how much longer is probably a fraction of a second IMHO!!

hope this makes sense bud!!

I think the general concensus amongst those who talk bollox less than 50% of the time is that recircs are theoretically better but you're unlikely to be able to tell. Reason is that the ECU expects them to be there and will fuel accordingly.

However, the difference is tiny so I would base the choice on whether or not I wanted the noise.

You could always get recircs + that Japanese gadget that will play a dumping sound from under the bonnet when you change gear ...

Dave

BOVs - make a noise.

Re-circs - don't.

Okay - there's more to it that that. Now, what I've heard is that BOVs do work, but only on extremely powerful 300s, I've thinking for 800-900bhp+, otherwise there's no point in spending the money.

My friend had BOVs on his 300, same spec as mine (555cc / dual-pop etc) and the car didn't accererate so well as with re-circs, a stutter/pause between each gear. So they came off again and the performance was better, this was probably to do with the ecu fueling for the stock setup...

Jez.

Why would anyone want a BOV noise? ;)

Go for re-circs!! :D

Anita

Unless you've got recircs like mine that make the even worse noise the dreaded 'goosehonk'.
