Anyone got any recommendations ? It's a present for someone to use in the gym so it needs to be small. Ideally have enough memory for a couple of hours of music plus reasonable battery life.

 

Oh, cheap would be nice too. And the ability to have it in my hands in 4 days is essential (yes darling, of course I'm ready for your birthday).

The best is the IPOD from 5-10-20 gig hard drive ones.

cheapest is around £250, but then its awesome.

Just got a brand new diamond rio 64mb (about enough for a cd) off ebay for £35 and i find it perfect for the gym.:cool:

Yeah - my mate's just got an iPod and he is mucho impressed (he has a track record of being very very gadget techy).

 

But for me, for gym work, I would avoid any HDD-based player - just in case.

 

Hairsy - have you got any other gadget which uses solid state memory - eg Memory Stick or SSD or Compact Flash or whatever else it is called these days? The point being is that if you have a camera or PDA, you might as well choose an MP3 player which uses the same type of memory.

Gio - good thinking - I've got memory stick in my camcorder and Secure Digital in my PDA.

 

Waz - cheap is much more in the £35 territory than £250. I don't need to impress her after all - she's married me now :D
