Few things I have noticed.

Noticed a few things on my zed tonight. First. Fuel pump is really loud does quieten down over time this common? Oil garage works then stops I think this is common? And temp gauge is half way up within 8 mins but been told this probs normal so not a a problem. One other thing is, sounds like a dry bearing when engine is running but not sure which is there a common on that drys up? Like to get it sorted.

Car as only done around 200mile in the last year so I have been told so that won't help, I have not had chance to put any miles on it yet due to work. But do love it already lol

Cheers mark

Fuel pump shouldn't be herd really .. and as with Age it would be recommended to fit a New one ... as now i'v had few zeds with failing pumps in the garage with a range of problems

oil pressure gauge is crap you can try replacing the sender unit ...

Fan Belt may be worn out or to loose ...

Pump is really loud to be fair on start up will change for peace of mind I thnk. As for fan belt cheers will deffo have a look I thought fan but doesn't sound like it's from that but hard to pin point lol :)

I'm seeing more & more Zeds with failing fuel pumps. As new, they were one of the best OEM pumps available, but a quarter of a century on they are no longer the powerhouses they once were.

It is time for most people to consider replacing as the alternative is a melted piston or six. If your fuel pump is noisy, it's on the way out.

Thanks noz, will get one what am I look at in cost? Will fit myself. I just wondered if it was updated on as the updated one in my scoob is a bit noise but not as noisey as the zed lol.

I supply genuine AEM 320lph pumps for £90 delivered. Only problem is that I'm all out at the moment, so you may need to source one from elsewhere. They're much quieter than genuine Walbros, can barely hear them prime and there's no droning whilst running. I ran mine completely dry as part of an additional durability test and even sucking up air it was pretty quiet.

If I can not get one will bare you in mind cheers, the pump does quieten down after 15 mins but you can here it stop and kick in again every so often engine runs fine well but lumpy on start up cold for 30 seconds lol

Pretty much a straight fit. It's much smaller than the original pump.

Make: AEM High-Flow 320 LPH

Pump: 50-1000

Volts: 13.5

Test Fluid S/G: 0.76

Fluid Temp: 69

AEM might be considered a newbie to the fuel pump market but don't let their adolescence fool you. The newest fuel pump to the AEM lineup is rated at 320 lph at 43 psi and is a direct drop-in unit that can be used for both naturally aspirated and forced induction vehicles. Upon testing the unit, we found the pump to offer rock-solid voltage fuel flow stability throughout the entire test, which was a common problem among the cheaper "knockoff" models we had tested in part one.
