I have 5K, now make my stock manual TT Import 400 BHP.

I need labour charges included.

Can you leave any left for wheels.

Cheers.

Mike.

People agree with me?

Well first of 400bhp at the wheels or the flywheel?

what stuart says is close to a flywheel figure,

for 400 wheel horespower, youd need to up turbos in size, and injectors ect....

to run reliably.

so id say

555'cc

JWT 530BB turbos

Exhaust

ECU

intake

boost controller.

I think the highest figure on this forum with stock turbos has been Grants car (with a legit dyno sheet)

and that was 360 on the wheels.

NO "captain" anymore?

555's ? how much? alot of labour?

got any prices on what we were talking about the other week?

James.

Yep hit me witrh prices chaps bearing in mind the 5K limit.

And would a new ECU do away with the boost controller and chip????????

There seems to be a few ways of getting to 400BHP, which is the best?

Im always the captain lol.

555cc are around 550 pounds to be safe.

Turbos are anywhere from 1600squid to 5k

GT25BB turbos are around 1850 id say. and they are plain and simply awesome blowers.

ECU well there are huge varietys, but contact Chric C or LYMON regarding this issue.

Intake typically 120-180

Exhaust agian 450- 600 around abouts.

of course youll need a decent clutch around 400.. and the list goes on lol, then brake kit... suspension, because remember its no use going and getting 400brake if you cant stop.

ideally you want a boost controller, again anywhere from 350-500 for good models.

so net result

Boost controller - 400

ECU - 300 (you can get this done far cheaper)

555CC injectors - Nismo around 550

Garrett gt25bb around 1850

exhaust - around 550

clutch - 400

brakes around 600 for skyline 328mm 4 pistons jobs

suspension around 400 odd....

and you should be doing quite well.

then of course its engine out job around 650 plus fitting turbos ect.

clutch around 150-250 to fit.

suspension again contact someone like Andrew Duff to do this for you.

im now just talkign to much so ill shut up lol.

Is there any hope with a mere 5K.

Just enginee bits, ill just use it on long roads where i can take hours to brake and no corners!!!!!

If you add up the engine bits on 300z's post, and forget the stopping and cornering bits it comes to £4950 - including engine out and labour for turbos and clutch. Yes, I am bored at work.:D

Most of that is what i think you will need to go above 400 on the wheels.

If you just do

ECU

EXHAUST

INTAKE

BOOST CONTROLLER

INJECTORS

And run 14-15 psi youll notice a massive increase in power.

At least a jump of around 100 wheel bph.

So from around 220 whp to around 320 plus whp is huge.

and that wont cost you much.

Around 2+k

Then get wheels ect and im sure youll be more than happy with that.

One thing id do is lower the car aswell.

Bored at work, wow your in IT by any chance are you, im neaarly asleep here.....

Ang on don't i already have 280 at the wheels in stock???

So your saying

ECU

Induction

Exhaust

Decat

Boost controller

Injectors

And get the whole lot bunged on and the stock turbos rasied to 14psi will give me a 100bhp at the wheels?????????

Wouldn't that take me to 380BHP???????

You reckon 2K for the above, what about labour and mapping etc!!!!

did you bother to read what i said?:D

280 is not at the wheels stock, its more like 220-225 stock on the wheels.

So around 320 should be realistic.

And probably more if its set up correctly.

So every car every where give you fly wheel BHP figures?

Yeah any magazine you read ect with figures would be quoted on engine power as id suspect they get figured on an engine dyno at the facotry as its the most accurate type of Dyno.(done during the development of the engine.. ect)

And there is quite a difference depending on lots of angles, ie transmission loss ect... to take into account.

Ok thanks for that, live and learn.

So this little bundle below, 2K fitted, What do you reckon?

replacing the injectors is a bit ott imo, there not gonna max out on stock internals/turbos so why bother? you'll need to do them if you run bigger turbo's tho, but there not on your wish list!

Again though it needs to be established do you want 400 on the wheels or at the engine (because of the difference in power)

Stock injectors are fine up to around 420 bhp at the flywheel.

You defo need to upgrade at anything near 400 wheel bhp

So lads with stock blowers give me a run down on what i need and what it will represnt bhp wise on the fly wheel.

Like prices and what i would need and resulting bhp!!!!

Hello Mate,

Sounds like that money is burning a hole in your pocket, although I am noone to lecture anyone else on spending money!

Why don't you do each mod at a time get used to each increase in BHP gradually and see at what level you are happy with the car!

A consideration might be a R33 brake upgrade, about 500-600 quid and a front and rear anti roll bar upgrade, which is meant to be the best suspension mod going, I think you can get them in the States for $250!

Mark

No no no, can't be doing with that. My friend jumped his supra to 600BHP and he lived to tell the tale.

I want a angle on what this will cost else i may be of to TT supra land.

cone filter £100 - £200 diy job

SS exhaust cat back £450 + diy job / 1 hours labour max

ecu, real chip or....................? ;)

boost jets pennies! (dont start waz!!:D )

boost gauge £50+ diy job / 1 hours labour

boost controller £200+ never installed but cant be that bad

+ your gonna need an uprated clutch £350 4-5 hours labour

Paul is this the sort of task you would take on, seeing we live so close? and you have a nice shiney merc garge to do it in!!!

could poss sort something out, once you know exactly what you want let me know.

I may be able to sort some of it out outside work hours, but i dont get too involved these days cos

1, its to fecking cold outside &

2, I get precious little free time anyway

so it may have to be done at work (I aint doing a clutch on my back on axle stands anyway!!) our labour rate is £55 ph + vat, i may be able to wangle a bit of discount on that tho for ya.

any way, let me know what you decide

You already got 280 bhp so get yourself down to the local horse sales and buy 120 knacker ponies or 240 shetlands if you can't get full sized ponies and attach them to the front of the car! Jobs a goodun. 400 bhp on tap. :D :D
