Cheers Stuart.

By the way, do you wanna sell that toolkit that you are taking out of your motor? Is it the genuine Nissan baby? The car I'm buying doesnt have one in as some phookr has nicked it, but if you wanna flog yours then get in touch.

Erm, when did I say I was going to the the tool kit out ?.

I can't remember telling anyone that. Mabe I had a few beers :D .

Anyway, I have found out although you can pass the MOT without a spare tyre it is still aginst the law. But then again it is also against the law to run out of petrol.

So I think I need to keep the tyre and tool kit in there for both legal reason and just in case I want to sell the car later on (not bloody likley :D )

No worries.

Can't see how not having a spare tyre is illegal. All TVR's are sold without spare wheels.

My Cerbera just had a can of that crappy foam sealant stuff you're supposed to fill your tyre with in the event of a puncture. I suggest you just buy a can of that. Not much use in the event of your tyre being shredded though - i'll admit.

Although not an MOT bloke (where's PaulC when you need him) it appears from the online MOT manual on tyres you don't need to have a spare to pass the test and even if it is dodgy, you won't fail.

Can anyone in the real world confirm / deny?

Cheers - Gio

Yes I did check with the MOT place before I posted my first repsonse earlier up this thread.

No spare tyre does not effect the MOT, but a few people tell me its illegal to drive, maybe they are just talking out of their exhaust pipes. :D
