listened with a screwdriver 2 of them not ticking, also pulled the connectors off the coils and no change to lumpy engine

You can test the injector solenoids with a 9V battery, some wire and a bit of insulation tape (to keep the wire on the battery terminals). See if they click. Polarity doesn't matter. If they do click, assume they are sound for the time being and investigate the loom, which includes inside the ECU where the injector drivers are located. Electrical connections "seeming fine" is not very conclusive, you need to be 110% sure the connections are sound. Consider investing in a noid light (kits from £7).

Measure the resistance on the injector. Should be between 10 - 14 ohm (from memory), and if they are not within this or close to, then they will need replacing. When I had injectors going bad in the past, they have been way out on the ohm reading.

check the condition of the loom to the injectors, my guess is the wires have deteriorated. i doubt the injectors are going to fail on a spark plug change, but the wires and connectors on the loom will be brittle by now if its not a new loom. and changing spark plugs could of knocked the cable, so before you think its a dead injector, check the harness.
