Yeah, ok, I admit that's a cheesy title for a thread. But it's no less true.

The committee, NEO's, and REO's can sit here and organise shows based on what we think the members want, but there's no guarantee we will get it right.

And whilst we can't please everyone, as NEO I am keen to ensure that all members get their say in how they want shows in the future to take shape.

So give me your thoughts and ideas.

What national shows do you want to see the club attend?

Do you have a local show you would like to see a small club stand at?

Please remember that the phrase "Use it or lose it" applies quite significantly here.

If REO's are putting time into arranging a club presence at a show, then no one shows interest, then that REO is going to struggle to maintain enthusiasm for his role here.

So in return for taking on board your suggestions and ideas for the future, I would like your support in the form of attending local meets and coming to the shows.

I have a rough guide of the 2015 shows that I will post up later.

I've made space in my inbox, so get your ideas and comments coming in.

Great start in your new role Alex - this is what we need mate!!

never mind shows you need to sort the search engine out on here that would be a good idea

As said, this is about events. Please keep to the subject in hand and make your suggestion in the appropriate section of the forum Dan...:nono:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

First year I've been to any events with the club, did enjoy coventry and Beaulieu, but personally like to use my zed, might not appeal to everyone but could we have a club day at santa pod or something? Nothing serious just a bit of fun, could put a few against each other etc. Probably just being childish,

My other suggestion would be Silverstone classic if they'd have us, different atmosphere to most shows, assorted cars, and track action...

I'll look into Santa Pod or similar.

The main issue is dedicated club days are bloody expensive and I don't think there would be enough interest from here.

However we could have a meet at a normal RWYB day.

I'll look into getting the club an invite for Silverstone Classic

Theme cafes have meets from time to time, like the ace cafe meet. There is another one just north of basingstoke that has similar events. I think they mainly do American cars as they featured on wheeler dealers trading up when he bought the El camino. I personally would be interested in transport museum meets such as the Haynes museum meet last year.

Hi Alex im planning a cars and coffee meeting in the Manchester area real soon, if it takes off im hoping it will be a monthly event, when I get a date can you ask the 350/370 boys if they want to come too? also ill ask zclub am I missing anyone out ?

Count me in. Ill help out as much as I can.

I was going to point out that there should be meets for our area, I think this would be great if we can have this in the Manchester area!!

Like the Transport museum Brooklands Museum dose have some theme days. could check for an appropriate one.

Another one of the many many car shows i went to last year was BHP Performance a Lydden hill race track. that had club stands could be worth a look if it is enough people cup of tea. you can also get track time too

Lexx is correct I looked at a club day at Oulton Park and it was ridiculously expensive, fine if you have lots of members with deep pockets like the Porsche set but not the way to go for us I believe.

With Regard to Track style meetings Bob Dixon & Slick Pete regularly compete in Time attack & RWYB sessions at various tracks from Santa Pod to York Dragway. I'm sure that if we get a group together we could attend one of these sessions as a club and have a great day, its not too expensive either. On another note the track sessions at Traxx are not expensive, I know it clashes with JAE but for those who want to run their cars, not sit in a field all weekend then this is an option where we just need to advertise the clubs intentions early and get the event on everyone's radar. I for one will be attending Traxx and more RWYB meetings as well as Ten Of The Best next year.

I will be attending some static events but i'm shifting towards driving events personally.

On the first Sunday of November (02/11/14) it is Vee power Sunday (Vee engines not Honda's :thumbup1:) at the Goodwood breakfast club would be good to see some members there and meet some more faces. Its free to go and free to display your car.

I shall be spreading the word of the site if i see any 300's that don't know of this group yet.

I would love to attend a meet at goodwood but its a long long drive for me.

All great ideas guys.

I have a busy few weeks coming up with work and weddings and family holidays. But I'll compile some kind of manifesto type thing detailing how I plan to move forward with meets and get it posted up towards the end of next month and we will go from there.

------

As a note to all members - don't be afraid to post up meets or events in the regional sections yourself. Ideally contact the REO for that area first, but if you know of a monthly meet that you think members may be interested in, then post of the details in the appropriate regional area and take it from there.

With regards to national shows (big and small) I would prefer a courtesy PM before you post up as there may already be something going on behind the scenes that you would need to know about.

We need to plan 2015 way ahead to ensure its done right.

any ideas however small show be noted down.

i myself would like to see a few below changes to jae.

bigger fridge

something to make our marque stand out at night (liked the colour changing LEDs)

take part in the group sports events which we never do like the 5 a side.

maybe fundraising doing something at an event to get noticed.

maybe a live camera of the event on the club, (I done this a few years ago)

The led idea is easily sorted, I work at a DJ equipment company and can sort out nearly any kind of lighting.

Group event and something to get noticed can be done together by doing it in fancy dress or something like that.
