Any idea how the hell you can remove these plugs from the metal frame? I can see there is a small "tang" holding the plug in place, but how does it come off without breaking the plastic runners on the reverse of the plug?

I did it by sliding a narrow flat head screwdriver gently between them but must be small. I then wiggled it side to side and applied pulling pressure and it came off.

What he says or a bradawl.

Cheers guys I'll try harder, had been trying with a "feeler" gauge, really don't want to break the back off the plugs.

I had the same problem, I used a small screwdriver to lift each side enough to squirt WD40 in and they came out with lots of pulling and wiggling
