Right everyone, what are the top three best and worst things you have ever done to your Zs?

As a fairly new owner I'm hoping to learn from other's mistakes and pick up a few useful ideas at the same time. Hopefully this will help anyone else new to the world of the 300ZX!

I don't think red is my col lol my N/a is red too

Ooooh yes. I remember now! My head has been in the clouds for the past few months! Sorry about that. I am guessing there are plenty of salvageable parts for Mark to build you a new one?

This is quite a good thread for one of your first posts. Well done Stefan :)

Those of us that've been around a long time will know some of the history but in short I've had 2 zeds so will separate them.

BLUE UK ZED

BEST

1 - manual conversion (although the auto wasn't that bad)

2 - Alloys

3 - Finally getting the engine rebuilt properly after far too many problems, this lead to my new car as the body was rotten and was all done by a good and fairly well known engine builder / mechanic

WORST

1 - Sticking with it too long and throwing good money after bad

2 - Not breaking and getting all the good stuff from the car when getting the new shell. Could have made decent money and it had some decent refinements (like blue uk glass etc)

3 - Not buying my favourite ever zed (The Fridge) when I had early notice it was going up for sale and effectively had first chance of buy it.

BLACK JAP SPEC CAR - the above rebuilt engine went it to this car

1 - The above fully rebuilt engine with great and huge turbos

2 - re trimmed interior

3 - Veilside evolution exhaust and some other really rare bits

4 - 99 spec type rear lights

WORST

1 - Not having a full respray

2 - Not yet fitting a 99 spec front bumper that's just sat in the garage for donkeys

Membership No 0780

INSURANCE GOOFA

Datascan, Conzult, ECUTalk and a few others

I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:

si Yeh got the engine gearbox prop coil overs rear end off my N/a im takin this off next week then will go on hol come back and spend days getting bushes out before i ship it lol any tips easy ways easier then haha

Best:

1 - Mapping it

2 - 2.5" pipework, custom intercooler set up & dual split intakes

3 - EBC Yellowstuff pads & grooved/vented discs all round, once they're up to temp!

Worst:

Nothing really. I had some alloys on it that were quite heavy a year or so ago.
