Hi all,

I'm in the middle of trying to import a Z and am a bit confused about the chassis numbers used in JDM cars. My understanding was that the NA cars start "GZ" and the TTs start "GCZ", but I've just seen a GCZ chassis number which doesn't have a boost gauge on the speedo. Has somebody made a mistake with the details, or am I wrong about the chassis numbers? Or were TTs ever made without the boost gauge?

Thanks for any help,

Chris

Between 95 and early 98, TT Z32s came without a boost gauge. What model year were you looking at? You can easily tell by engine bay photos whether it's TT or NA if you have them.

It's a 97 so that fits with there being no gauge. Thanks guys, I knew there would be a tame expert on the forum who would just know the answer I couldn't find on google!

Cheers

Actual mine Si, is a late 94 and no boost gauge.

I have put one in though without too much bother as the gap meant the balance with the oil gauge was doing my head in.

It would have been a 95 model year though as series 3 was considered '94' irrespective of manufacture date. Late 98s were actually 99 models and this is when the boost gauge returned.
