With 44 days till JAE, and a lot of work going on at wicksteed park in preparation, it took awhile but im finally able to post information about it.

Wicksteed park has undergone a lot of renovation work this year, which meant until it was complete i didnt know if our plot had changed or not. im happy to say we are still in the same plot of land we have had for the past 3 years running now, which is on the left as you enter the JAE event.

Ticket prices have changed, where they used to be £25 advanced ticket, its now £30, you can also come and set up on the Thursday (regardless who you are, it used to be support and club set up guys only) with the extended weekend camping pass (Thursday to Sunday) now priced at £35, day tickets are still available, and the same rule applies as previous years, Jap cars only for stands, all other country makes are resigned to the secured public carpark just outside the event.

Tickets are available here http://www.japcarclub.org/index.php/ticket

Again JAE will be hosting a list of activities for clubs to participate in

Tug Of War Battles

Dragon Boats

Five-a-side football tournament

Endurance competition

Japanese Food and Drink eating competition

Car Pull

Bungee Challenge

Inflatable Jousting

Time Attack Go Karting

Two man relay race

For more info, please visit here http://www.japcarclub.org/index.php/club-information/events-and-activities

As per usual the club will provide a BBQ for the cooking of food and supply a mix of foods to eat, please remember we are not offering to feed you for the weekend and its advisable to bring your own food and drink as well, Tea and coffee will be available

Please get your names down for this event so we have an idea of numbers in attendance.

Sunday is £10 and as its the last day of JAE, if you are in a 300zx, im sure they will let you drive it in and park on the stand, Daffy, the Saturday ticket no stand entry is due to people in the past paying for a day ticket and camping the night. that wouldn't apply for Sunday as the event is usually over by around 4pm with most clubs packed up and gone.

Pete is at Trax on Sunday so the rule for Saturday will apply as that's the day he wants to attend. Hence me posting that info. Thanks for the reasoning behind it though.

Thanks to Daffy and Vods for the info..:thumbup1:

Never mind... it was just an idea.....................................................

Im not that fussed about attending.

  • 2 weeks later...

I will be there all weekend but wont be camping as usual (nice warm bed for me !).

Is it me or is there little enthusiasm for JAE this year? Is that because everyone went to the Coventry meat as their annual event?

Could also be due to Trax is on the same weekend.

Is the club putting a bulk order together like previous years or do we have to get our own tickets this year?

Everyone ended up getting their own tickets last year. not sure it makes sense doing a bulk buy due to how it works, you pay the club, the club buys the tickets, the tickets get sent out to use, we then send them on to you. easier for the tickets to be ordered by you and get sent straight there, there are no savings either on a bulk buy, so no one actually saves anything.

I may be able to make it, although I think it may clash with a family do that weekend...

Agreed - we have not organised tickets through the club for some time now..... We don't get any club discount - so there is no benefit to it; not to mention the administration involved in getting numbers down, chasing in payments and then buying and posting out in time.... And with many people often undecided until the last minute, buying a set number in advance is always a gamble, as we could never guess how many to purchase in order not to lose out.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
