Evening guys. Cut a long story short, someone in a transit van has reversed into my girlfriend's parked car. They were either drunk or didn't check their mirrors as they shunted it a good couple of feet. We have the evidence on CCTV.

They were in a sign written van and contact has been made. The driver has admitted it and says he 'thought I could blag it and get away with it as no one saw me'. As you can imagine I am fookin' fuming!!

 

I have told my missus to go to the police with the video and to go through the correct insurance procedure.

 

My question is with regards to the insurance claim devaluing her car. It is an immaculate 09 plate Fiesta zetecS with low miles and FFSH. Current values are circa 7.5k but cat d ones are 4.5/5k. Is it possible to chase his insurance for the diminished value??

They rectified some of the problems but still not happy so car wasn't accepted again. This is getting ridiculous!!

They are now going to try a brand new front bumper to see if the alignment is better. Was supposed to be a 4 day repair FFS

Cheers Gary. I nearly accepted it yesterday just to be done with it. But it's not right so sent it back. To be fair, the guy said if we're not happy then they will try and sort it. They must agree as they wouldn't be trying a new bumper.
