Finally got round to fitting new Koni's and Blitz lowering springs. Onlyhad time to do the rear so far tho. One of the old ones was completely knackered as it didn't even come back up after pushed, anyway, the trouble is that the springs are supposed to lower the car about 35mm but instead they seem to have raised it. Have i fiited something wrong or is there something to adjust? Trouble is I can't read Japanese.

I have heard that they take a while to settle as they have been sat on a shelf with no load on them.

Is your car an import? I've heard they are lower as standard.

Anyone know if this is true?

I've got the same going on mine when they arrive so would be interested in the results.

My Z looks just the right height at the moment but one spring is sagging so ordered the Blitz ones.

Hope it's not going to be higher

yes mine is an import. it did look fine with the old springs but was doing the shocks so thought i would do the rest as well. They must be about 35mm higher than they where so might end up putting the old ones back and selling them again if they don't settle down.

Hello Devil,

At least you've got yours - come on Johnny!!!

I'm sure Chris is right that they will settle down. You've also got to remember that there's every chance that your old springs would have sagged so they might look lower than new stocks.

I'm sure Mac or Warren would be be able to enlighten us as I'm positive they've got these springs.

they might take a few days to settle down, and your old springs could have sagged alot, they reallyare good springs i have to say, not as low as say the eibachs, but i have had mine on for over a year now and they work a treat.

Give them some time to settle.

Had another look today and stupid me had fitted them incorrectly. I had put the plate on the bottom of the spring up the wrong way which also made sure I had fitted the front springs to the rear - wot a twat. Anyway sorted now and it sits alot better.

Should have kept this quiet really but someone else might be as daft as me and this will help them out.

cheers Devil, you've probably saved me a future post - doh!

Vijay

LMFAO nice one!

That's a relief anyway - got to fit my springs and Koni's this week.

just out of intrest, how do u measure if your ride height is stock, my zeds got 18's on and over small bumps the back end seems to hop, kinda like u can feel the back end moving, is this normal or has my zed been lowered/stiffenend

When I had my wide arch kit fitted the car had been suspended on a jack at the rear for quite a while at Peters(PPS) waiting for the wheels. Took ages to settle afterwards.

Imports are lower, me and AndyP had our cars parked together and mine being a UK model was a few inches higher at the rear than Andys car which is an import.

My Z is a Jap TT and its got 17" Split Rims and jumps on bumps quite a lot?

Why???????????????

Dan

Check the silcone filled bushes on the rear subframe arent leaking...this will cause bump steer...also check your wheel bearings....mine were shagged on the rear n/s and this caused bump steer too...much better now I have had the bearing fitted.

New this post was around somewhere.

Just a bit of advice, if u don't mind. My springs are on their way and am going to fit them myself, any probs so far? straight forward? got the fronts on yet?

Cheers.

yeah they are pretty straight foward. Just get the plates under the springs the right way up.

Trouble with Koni is that the rear ones you have to take off and apart to adjust, and i would prefer them a bit harder than the middle but cant be arsed to take apart again.
