I will be doing a afr bung when I get my car back on the road I know you are ment to fit it on the side or top of the pipe work not the bottom think this is so if not laying in any condensation that may happen in a system as it cool but you get the idea

Any idea where on the down pipe you should drill?

What does the installation for your AFR gauge say?

i am having dual Innovate LC1 wideband and using stock positions on my VH, the instructions say something like 16" from turbo or manifold ports. I know many people have ignored this and put it in where the stock sensor sits in some cases being only 3" from the turbo outlet.

As for orientation mine has to be between the 9o'clock and 3o'clock position (the top half)

Ask the person doing your tuning, he will have more experience that most. noz maybe ;) haha

I would think I can be any were near th down pipe I have seen then on the decat pipes near the top end of it as in down pipe side

Haven't bought them yet, but was looking at the LC1 setup.

Need to get it fitted before the car goes to Noz, which won't be long so just doing my homework, lol

Will drop Noz a line

if you look at at this link you can see afr bungs are a option when ordering the test pipes so that would be a wise place to put them at the top end of of the test pipes http://specialtyz.com/shop/default/300zx/exhaust/sz-3-test-pipes-168.html

Thanks, guess I may have to have my test pipes removed and a couple of bungs fitted. Bugger more delays, lol

removing the test pipes isn't a big really. removing the down pipes from what I have seen can be a little tricky

Agree with that the standard OEM down pipes are a real PITA I ended giving up when I last tried was only beaten by 2 bolts!

Hi,

Noel has his own wide band he'll be using, and unless you plan on tuning yourself I wouldn't bother. If you do decide to go ahead I would say you'd want an exhaust place to weld it on

the wide band would be worth having as you can keep an eye on the afr as if something starts going wrong you can see before its to late like if you was running lean due to a something going wrong just as like a monitor like a boost gauge

Just really wanted an afr gauge to keep an eye on things, just trying to put as many safety measure in to protect all this work/money
