I'm having issues with my diff and I'm considering an NA swap.

I know the NA swap gives a better acceleration over the TT, but with the sacrifice of top end.

My question is, what sort of sacrifice am I looking at? I'm prepping it for the track / 1/4mile

So just thought I'd ask.

There are no tracks in the UK where you will be able to exceed the max rev/speed of an NA diff.

Likewise on the 1/4 mile.

Our fastest 300ZX running mid 11s only does 130mph.

This is the correct answer, only exception is any top speed runs at elvington or bruntingthorpe, but you'll need a lot of power to get there

And be very brave!!!

Going back a few years...when we went to Bruntingthorpe with J tuner mag.

You did 158mph

My old NA did 136.9mph

only a few years!! both relatively standard at that point too

In September I’ll be competing in the Brighton Speed Trials again. My best time there so far is 13.52 @ 108mph. I now have a NA diff fitted and hoping for around a 12.5…this would be faster than the Audi R8 that competes.

as soom are aware mine being done at the moment ( tt to na rear end) As soon as i pick up my car. That will be when im back from my next trip working away. 27th june, ill let you know how the difference fills if any. im hoping there is a diiference thou.

are there and cons to the na diff? such as fuel economy?

You may well use a bit more fuel.

Most of us who do mods like this dont really give a toss about economy. We just want to go faster:clap:

haha yeah its not really a economical car as it is :P but mine will be a daily driver so anything to help.

When I do it the plan is to sit at 60 on the motorway for long commutes and set off 15 minutes earlier. It will be a bit revvier in 5th but its like 40kgs lighter and you will feel like you have another 50 horsepower. It's not gonna make it much worse day to day because below 60mph you can just be one gear higher and it will be exactly the same as it was with the TT diff.

Stock the car does 0-60 in 5.5 secs, which drops down to 5 secs with basic mods. After the NA diff it drops.to about 4.5 seconds.

Does that sound about right?

there are very few cars and drivers on this forum that can do less than 5 secs.
