Have de-catted the Z with a full stainless system, have the o2 sensors gone with the old exhaust or are they tucked up further towards the turbo's?

Thanx for any help.

If they went with the CAT's your car wouldn't be running very well ;)

They're much further up - immediately after the turbos on the elbows that join up to the downpipes, you can see them if you look down the back of the engine..

Cheers, no, there's no way they replaced the pipes that far up. It was just suggested they might be faulty as my MPG is terrible, £20 the other day only got me 50 miles! I'll try the self diagnostic test on the ecu. Thanx again.

Take it easy.

The self diag will only confirm if they are actually broken or disconnected. What tends to happen is that they tend to get 'sticky' when they start to fail and report a lean signal more tyhan they should so the ECU tells the fuel system to compensate by making the car run richer which leads to high fuel consumption.

Another possibility that I forgot to mention in your other post was the PCValves. They tend to either gum up, or the spings get weak, this can also affect fuel consumption.

So how do you "un-stick" the buggers or is it replace only?

Hmmm, you've done me there with the PCValves! what and where are they?

It's a chuck'em away job, they're cheap from Courtesy, just make sure you get the rubber pipes too. PCV's are located on the back of the plenum.

There you go again!!!!!!!!

whats a plenum??????? sounds like something from Star Trek.

Its der big shiny bit on top of the engine. Engine is under the bonnet - the big shiny smooth bit which is in front of the clear thing you look through when driving .... (Sorry ;))

How did I know I was gonna get a sarcy comment?

I've done every single job on my Z myself -and there has been alot! just never heard of a plenum, alright? leave me alone, I'm having a bad day.

So are those "chuck 'em" aswell? (PCV's)

cheers.
