Over the last two weeks the car has been loosing drive when accelarating hard. At the weekend things have go so bad that the engine seems to be struggling to accelarate to 40 -50 before it starts to act as if its in neutral (ie revving but no power). This is also followed by a really ower powering hot smell.... Is this likely to be a clutch problem or possibly more terminal.

The odd thing is that the clutch seems to engage the gears ok but its losing drive .

If this sounds like a new clutch needed. Anyone know how much its likely to cost fitted at a main dealer ?

do this put it into 4th or 5th at about 40-50 mph and put your foot down.

if it gets onto boost and just revs its your clutch.

Regarding clutch, costs between £150-200 to fit and then of course depends on where you want to go power wise.

£350-upwards for decent clutches.

Yup sound like the clutch.

Do the thing that 300Z says. When the you say the car losed power let the revs rise up another 500 or 1000 revs then let go of the accelerator completley. The rev needle, instread of dropping a slowley with the engine, will suddenly drop revs and then slowley go down.

I think I will try get a vid of what happens when the clutch slips.
