You should get slighly more with Optimax than normal UL.

How was you driving?

More? but it costs more, so you get less for your aunt flo!?

my driving was....... normal-ish, nothing too hard.

I would check that, £20 of optimax gets me about 100 miles average.

Optimax works out cheaper for me in the long run, I get 20% better milage on the stuff and it only cost 10% more.

100 miles!!!!!!!!!!! no way!

Jesus man, something's not right. You say check it, check what??

i got 180 miles out of £30 worth of optimax last week, that was some hard driving in with that too. seem to be getting a little more since fitting the lightwieght flywheel, used to get 160 ish before.

having said that, if i drive it hard all the time it does drop right down

You should get close to 20mpg if the car is running right and being driven sensibly. Obviously lots of short journeys on cold mornings will make this worse. Anyway, it would be worth you resetting the ECU and double checking that you don't have a faulty oxygen sensor (or two!)

Will a faulty oxygen sensor show up on the diagnostic test thing?

-and where is the oxygen sensor? I think I'm thinking of the air-flow meter, its not the same thing is it?

and thanx 4 your help!

o2 sensors are in the exhaust, one each side, just after the turbo's iirc.

you can check that they are working by going into diagnostic mode 2 on the ecu. check the manual for details

I jus had the 60k service on mine, water pump, cam belt thermostat new plugs, oil and filter change.

I was getting about 240 - 260 miles per tank (town and motorway) but now seems to be getting 340 - 360. I hope that lasts. I was driving alittle like my mum for the first 100 miles or so to let the brakes wear in, but after that I had some hard spells.

It's amazing how much petrol is used when your car is out of shape.
