Hi guys

Just got my first 300zx, pretty pleased to say the least but it is a project as a few bits and pieces need doing to it and i need some advice from you guys on here

so on the last mot the advisories were:

Slight corrosion on both rear brake discs

Both rear tyres have low tread

Slight blow on front exhaust pipes

Oil leak on engine and gear box

Slight corrosion to rear metal brake pipes

Slight corrosion to front metal brake pipes

Slight corrosion to Front to Rear fuel pipes

So the car is declared sorn as i have another car to drive around in and this will be my project to fix up.

The wierd thing is my car is an import, however, it is a Z32 3.0L V6 non turbo manual 5 speed. I understand that this is not usual? it is also a 4 seater.

so basically my questions are will parts on the internet where it states twin turbo be okay to use on my car?

im pretty confused at the minute haha real newbie i know.

if anyone knows what brake discs i can get would be a great help and if there are anything else i amunsure of i am hoping i can post on this thread for some help.

at the minute any help would be appreciative.

Thanks.

Kieran

Ah right okay great well i will go round the the garage tomorrow and size them up to see if they will fit

when it says 297mm x 18mm that 297mm in diameter and 18mm thick?

the car was registered in japen in 1990 but came into the uk in 2004 so do you think they will have different sizes on the front?

Thread moved into Help and Advice section. :)

Oh, and welcome to the forum matey :)

Edited by Steams

Probably smaller on the front, 26mm. If you want to change the front then would be worth doing the twin turbo caliper upgrade

Does anyone know where or who is selling some front brake calipers from a TT

I've got a set from a 1990 TT with pads in great condition £80 + delivery

forget someones advisory from there last mot, before you spend out any moneys put it in for an mot yourself then go from there. but the time you get there your rust from brake discs at the back will have gone. get your fresh mot then you can prioritise the moneys first mate. thats my advice

@spindoctor

I can't get an MOT yet because I can't get it taxed or insured

I'm only 19 and it's just a project car for me

I'm hoping next year I can insure it or maybe get a few months insurance through the summer so I can get an MOT and Tax

Yes, they're 30mm ones. Not going to sell without pads unless someone wants to buy a set of oem pads separately. So still £80.

Okay well I need to figure some stuff out but I'll definitely let you know whether I'll have them or not

I just need to speak to my dad

How much for delivery or is that included?

If all the discs have is some light corrosion then you could just remove and shot blast them. Paint the surfaces that are not touched by the pads and they would look fine.

Really? So if I book it in advance what do I do get a paper that says where I am going?

You need an MOT to tax your car. You need insurance to drive your car there.
