i have a 300zx which passed mot with flying colours (including emmisions) yesterday i also have a mk4 astra 1.8sri 51 plate which i use daily took it for test passed but not on emmisions

off the scale according to tester changed maff for new oem 1 also lambda sensor and its still the same

just wondered if anyone had any ideas as to what it could be tester talking something major but we just cant seem to get emmisions down

Knackered Particulate filter? I know that the pre facelift vectra c cdti diesels had DPF that needed to be replaced when blocked, where as the newer facelift models have a rechargable one that doesn't require replacement.. May be the astra was the same?? Sorry mate, that's all I've got as diesels run on magic as far as I can tell....lol

You could try some carb cleaner in the throttle body it may help to reduce carbon build up.

What condition is the cat in?

Bang some cataclean through it worked for me last mot, get it from gsf car spares

Whats readings are high may help with the problem
