Help Anyone??

Hi there!

Im new to 300zx's, my previous cars being a 280bhp pulsar and a 335bhp stg2 cossie.

I decided to stick with RWD (loads more fun)

I recently acquired a K plate 300zx(jap spec) and don't want to leave it standard.

A couple of questions if i may.

1. I want to TOTALLY overhaul engine (racing pistons etc).

I need a specialist tuner but cannot find anyone on the net, any idea's?

2. I only have about £6000 to spend on modding engine + car.

Any idea how far this will get me?

3. How much to subscribe?

Thanks in advance for all info,

Welcome to the mad house.

About your tuning, there are a few links on the bottom of the main page here also theres SE sylvia engineering, people on here seem to have mixed veiws about them from what i gather they are quite expensive, very slow and very poor at customer service having said that many rate their work as excellent, i dont know as ive never been there, im just telling you what ive heard.

Try doing a search and see what you think.

Try speaking to Jeff at Zedworld i can vouch for his work not that ive had anything spectacular done to my zed

Subscription is 20 squid and if youre keeping your zed a while its well worth it you get acess to menus and options that non subscribed members dont.

Oh and one last tip if your new to this site, Wathc out for nelson!! LOL:D

Nice1 M8 thanks!

just 1 thing, unless your spending SERIOUS dosh (more than £6k) the stock internals will prob be fine if in good condition. do you plan on spending all the money on engine mods, or is that for body, wheels, suspension etc??

Welcome to the world!

I would def try Jeff before SE. I think SE have got too big for their boots and do not deliver the goods. Having dealt with both I have been left with a nasty taste in my mouth from SE. But speak to PETE there and see what you think for yourself, he'll give it alot of BS but look through that and go with what you feel. There is no doubt SE have produced some rapid 300's.

As for this place, it is an absolute MUST for ANYONE with a 300. So much info available, I owe the people on here alot already and haven't been on here long.

Good luck, let us know how you're getting on.

James.

Welcome to the madhouse.

Firstly if you want Sub info, check this thread, details at the bottom of the page: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13868

If you're looking to have someone do the work on your car, or guide you in the right direction, I'd recommend Andy Duff, he's in Preson so he's not that far from you in Leeds. He doesn't run a garage as such but does know his stuff and it a real enthusiast, looks like his 300 which is nearly mechanically finished is going to be a real beast.

Good luck, HTH

Tim

Hi Mate,

I live just outside Leeds myself and have had a fair bit of work done. Should have some pics up on the forum soon as it's due out of the bodyshop this weekend.

There are a couple of others round here with some serious mods if you fancy meeting up for a beer and a chat sometime.
