As some of you would have seen on another thread I treated myself to a new 300zx this weekend.

It's a very late model, series 6 1999 model in midnight purple

I took a huge gamble with the car buying it blind off eBay with a description identical to one a few years back and terrible photos.

It was previously in the club and owned by forum member Craig David (Tim) who was the first UK owner. He took great care of the car but unfortunately it was passed around an Albanian family after that and with numerous trips to Albania and back and seemingly never been cleaned it had been neglected and was grimey and slimey and generally un-cared for.

I managed to negotiate on the price and got it for a good price. The journey home of 120 miles was cracking and it drives perfectly. I've spent the last few months lusting after a '70s Datsun Z car and was lined up to import one from the states, but this came up and I just had to have it. I couldn't help but notice how much I felt at home driving the Z back!

Sunday morning came round and I couldn't wait to get the car washed and polished and looking half reasonable again. It did need a bloody good scrub, and I only had time for a quick polish, but as you can see from the pictures it's starting to look like a cared-for car once again, and call me sad but I can't stop looking at pictures of it  well chuffed. And the colour is gorgeous :)

Here's some pics, a few befores and afters too.

A good machine polish and that will look so good!

Welcome back to ownership bud, that's a smashing looking car mate and I think you made the right choice. I always liked your previous zed and know that it is now in good hands.

You also know that although the 240z is a hell of a classic car, these will be soon, but they will be a classic with muscle!!

Another car saved and returned to the club! Nice.

Thanks Tony. I still want to go the 240/260/280Z route but will need to postpone it until after I've moved house and got room for two toys. Lol

Bargain find Baz, well done! Amazing what a quick brush up can do.

Question though? Did all 99 spec Z32's have a standard bumper with intakes for intercoolers as yours is an N/A right?

Colour is stunning and love those wheels..

I'll keep an eye out for you and the beast while I'm up here at Scampton. Don't leave it unattended for long though mate, you might see it teathered to land rover making its way back to Suffolk!!
