sitting here watching the news talking about the dangers of being on a bike, the fact that deaths and accidents are on the up, and saying they need this other device fitted to warn drivers of thier wereabouts only to cut to some film of local traffic lights where not one not two but three cycles ran solid red lights. i think for a start they should pay more attention to the road and thier spacial awareness and should be charged like anyone else on a bike and in a car. rant over.

The term road rage infuriates me. the audi made the mistake and should be penalised by legal enforcement.. if hed got in my face and called me I knocked him on his arse whether he was in his car, in a fish shop or wherever.. Thats not road rage. what gives anybody the right in any situation to call you names or get in your face? the cyclist also was guilty of assault in my opinion and the Audi driver was provoked of assault.. Still guilty of driving offences, was he booked for any of these? Basically you cal somebody a ****ing prick in any situation, expect a smack in the face....

I have no problems with cyclists - or Audi drivers (in general:wink:) - as the majority are just normal folk going about their daily business.....

.....And that is just it; it is their daily business. So what really gives the cyclist the right to lecture and reprimand a motorist (whatever car he drives) for a minor infringement of a traffic rule. And I say rule, because has an actual, punishable, offence occurred? The highway code is (apart from a very small part) not law; just a book of road etiquette for road users to follow - although it is taken into consideration when deciding who is at fault in a RTC etc...

The problem with this cyclist, is that he appears to be one of those militant types; who treats all other road users with distain and contempt. Yet goes around with an inflated opinion of his own moral superiority. My reply to him would be "You're riding a bike, not saving the planet - so get over yourself. And mind your own business!!!"

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

My biggest bug bear with cyclists are those who refuse to use cycle lanes, yet enjoy holding up mile upon mile of traffic! They get their roads for free! Even worse than this are those who do that and refuse to buy lights for their bikes!

Yup - it's that moral superiority again.....

......When there are cycle lanes to be used, then they should be used; our hard earned taxes go towards implementing cycle lanes, so to see them being wasted is well.... a waste:mad:

Yeah, the cyclists without lights are a menace. Nearly smeared one up my bonnet the other night. It was raining. He was on a dark bike wearing a black jacket with the hood up riding down the middle of the road!!

I know Mandy - it happens a lot here and we have no street lighting in the village to compound the issue. But what is worse for me, is that if you did happen to accidentally knock one down, then the chances are (if there were no witnesses), that you (the evil polluting motorist) would be held liable for the matter....
