I mean, they are suppoesed to be the car that executives drive but on the motorway every other car is a BMW and around town and city you see them in convoy.

I dont know how people think that they are the car for the rich/posh high powered people. You can get a 5 year old one for less then £4000. Most of the BMW on the road are the 316 or 318 which are not exclusive or expensive at all.

My girlfriend said she met an old school friend and hes doing really well cos hes driving a BMW. Well its the type of thing that people pop into conversations. "Yeah, I work as a no-body in a huge company and I drive a BMW!" Like its supposed to be impressive. I know a few people on here may own a BMW but that will be as a daily driver because they are probably good cars but you dont introduce yourself as a BMW driver like other people do, or you dont think you are exclusive cos you drive one. You probably drive one becuase its more pratical then the Z.

What my girlfriend failed to realise that BMW's cos from less then a grand for an old one to £60,000 - £70,000 for the huge fat cat ones. And BMW dirvers dont say what make of BMW they drive. Its just "BMW!"

Its also official that BMW drivers are the most hated on the road. :D

Moan over.

Just wanted to put some life into this boring night.

Totally agree, they are no more than a reps car, crap interior (no toys unless you go for 7 series) and the reputation of being driven by wankers.

Saying that, you look at the 850 and you can pick them up for the same price as a decent Z.

There are plenty of Fat Cat cars out there but my choice would be the Audi S8.

Well this is the problem with volume sales! Not sure of my facts here but isn't one of the current BMW's the best selling car in Europe or something like that ?

Couldn't agree more - I never have bought the "exclusivity" label with Beemers - it's just as you say .... it's the volume of sales lark - there's hundreds of the buggers around! Common is the word. This is not compatible with exclusive.

What does annoy me though, is the attitude, when on a previous test-drive of a 318is coupe (for the missus) - the salesman (who typically knew less about the car than I did), made the comment

"These cars sell themselves - everyone aspires to owning a BMW in their life"

What utter crap!

I've had 22 cars in the last 14 years and not ONE of them's been a beemer.:D

CheerZ,

John.

This country is populated by fcukwits who think East Enders is quality! Of course they think Beemers are class too!:D

My girlfriend bought a MINI, but still waiting for it though

While she was doing the paper work and talking to the dealer I wandered around the BMW show room and looked at a Z3 convertable. The sales person came to me as started to bable on about how fast it was and bla bla bla. 0-60 in 6.6 bla bla bla bla.

Went on to say something like "If you ever get a chance to go in a car that does 0-60 in 6.6 you will know what it feels like!"

If I ever get the chance?

Obviously he didnt hear the rumble of the V6 and the whistle of the twin turbos as I pulled up out side the showroom and parked right under his nose.!!!!

Tosser!

My mums, friend, you get that? Married a really rish person. Rich cos he works with some oil company and is away for months at a time. He said he gets BMW because its the car you have when you have money. If you have anything else would will be talked about. If he bought a new Ford, people in the neighbourhood would talk and push him out of the social circle so to speak. And if you keep your BMW for more than 3 years, talk of losing money, going bust and stuff start going round. What the ****!

I bet BMW start the talking off. They send a letter asking if they want to change there 3 year old BMW, and it they say no, BMW send letter to all the neighbours telling them that they're a skin flint. :D
