Have you got new panels, or have you just got the material to retrim your existing panels?

Depending on the material there are a few things that will help you manipulate the material.

I use a hot air gun and have made a couple of tools of different shapes and widths (made from sheet aluminium) to help push and hold the material in place, especially where the door panels have the join. A collection of flat screwdrivers will suffice. I also use a number of G-clamps and stiff foam, bits of Ali, rags and cardboard to clamp the material in position on the panels where the material naturally wants to pull away. You will soon get the idea.

I also have some small tubes of superglue at hand for when you need fast adhesion.

Other than this, you need patience and a clean working environment. Common sense I know, but I would start with the small dashboard panels or the armrest first so you can start to work out how best to do it.

Remember that if the material is not leather and is vinyl based some glues may react with it causing a burn.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

The best tool you can use is high-temp adhesive... anything else just won't go the distance!
